Shaurya Upadhyay

Shaurya is an Assistant Professor of Law and Assistant Dean (Research) at the Jindal Global Law School, where he teaches courses on international commercial arbitration, contract law and trial advocacy. Moreover, he has gained practical experience as an international disputes lawyer in international commercial arbitration and investor state arbitration by working with leading international arbitration practices and senior arbitrators in London, Singapore and India.

His practice covers arbitration and commercial litigation cases in the energy, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and technology sectors, under a variety of institutional rules across multiple jurisdictions. He has also assisted senior arbitrators on high value LCIA and ICC arbitrations. 

Shaurya completed his LL.M. in International Business Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science as a J.N. Tata Scholar in 2018. He served as the President of the LSE International Arbitration society (2017-18), and was a coach of the LSE Vis Moot team (2018-21).

His academic interests lie in the field of international disputes, public international law, gender and anti-discrimination studies, and the study of dispute resolution mechanisms. He has published on topics related to international arbitration, privacy law, anti-sexual harassment laws, and investment treaty law.
